Everyday Makeup Routine

Quick, Easy and Effective

My everyday makeup routine has to be quick and easy. I don’t have a whole lot of time by myself in the morning {or any time of the day for that matter} having two young children. I use eight easy products to make my face look flawless and my ever tired eyes appear a little more awake.

I want to start by saying, that I do not think makeup is the answer to SKIN issues. I am very passionate about proper skincare. SKINCARE is what will lead to beautiful, flawless skin, not makeup. If you’re curious, check out my skincare routine here from a previous post. Hint, it’s all medical-grade products that you may not be familiar with.

Once you’ve achieved great skin, it’s so easy to apply makeup and look unblemished. When I apply my daily makeup it’s simply to reduce some overall redness to my skin, conceal my under eye area, and add a little color with a touch of bronzer. Natural is the look I am going for on a daily basis. Here are the products I use:

Tinted Moisturizer

https://shopstyle.it/l/Zd0vLight coverage, extra moisture, and an SPF. All good to me! I’ve been wearing this light coverage foundation for over fifteen years. I love the dewy finish and how light it feels on.  So good!  Also available in an oil-free version.

To be honest, I have no idea how to pronounce the brand of this concealer. I went to Nordstrom and asked the nice woman to give me the best concealer they had. My under eye area is my problem area. I am desperate to try anything. The nice, knowledgeable woman led me to this new brand {I’ve never heard of it before} and I tried it on. I love that it’s a stick {easy to apply}, does not settle in my creases, and so far has lasted a really long time, which is great considering it is quite pricy. This product has great reviews among many and it truly has worked magic for me. It has been awarded numerous beauty awards…the cult product of Clè de Pau.

Eye Shadow Primer

Using a primer evens the tone of your lid, and allows the perfect foundation to apply eye shadows. It will help your eye shadow stay on longer, not crease, and truly pop the colors you are applying. This product is nothing super special, but it does the trick and does it well. Overall, I love how lightweight this formula is compared to other products I have tried. A no brainer.

Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Shadow Sticks

These caviar sticks by Laura Mercier are a mom’s best friend. You don’t need to use a brush, the color is concentrated and goes on quickly. Easy peasy. The matte caviar stick in Au Natural is the perfect neutral eyeshadow {which is the hot look at the moment}. I can’t explain how great it is. After I apply the Au Natual color all over the lid, I simply apply the Amethyst color to my crease. My eyes look great in about twenty seconds.

Au Natural

A newer brand of mascara of me, YSL. This mascara is amazing in the fact it does not clump {can I get an amen?}! It is great for separating and lengthening lashes comes with a stiff, plastic applicator and overall is a great mascara. A new fave of mine!

Pressed Base Powder

I’m guessing you may not have heard of Glo Beauty. I discovered this product while working in cosmetic surgery as this brand is known for its medical-grade skincare. Low and behold, they also create make-up and it is really good! At Glo Beauty, the makers believe makeup is an extension of skincare. All I can say is this pressed base powder leaves my skin absolutely flawless. I’ve been using this product for years and it has gotten me through covering my worst zits and redness after peels. When asked about my makeup, I often share this as my most results-driven product. I put this powder on with a brush, not the applicator it comes with.

For everyday, I don’t get too fancy with contouring {well, who am I kidding, not sure that I ever do, but I’ve played around with it}. Really, in winter, I just need to bring a little color to my face so I look healthy and alive. A touch of bronzer does the trick. I really like how this Laura Mercier goes on with a tinge of shimmer. Not too much, though.

Nude Lip Gloss

I love this product! Sara Happ {well first of all, her name is awesome} has really made a name for herself recently in the beauty world creating an amazing lip-only beauty line. Crazy that’s all she does and is so successful! This lip balm is perfect for under lipstick, alone, or over your favorite color. Super moisturizing and not too goopy at all. Specs or iridescent glitter really bring a BAM to your pout. Super shiny and oh so GOOD!

Makeup Organization

Keeping your beauty products organized is key to seeing what you have and be able to use it. I recently started using this acrylic organizer and have loved having all of my items neatly displayed. It has definitely made getting ready easier and quicker. The quality of this system for the price is great! The dimensions are 12″ high, 8 1/2″ deep, and 13 1/2″ wide.

These eight beauty items create a natural, flawless look. It’s quick, easy and you don’t have to be talented with makeup to make these products come together. I would not consider myself a beauty expert by any means. I tend to lean to a more natural look, but even I can use these and get a few compliments.
