Must-Have Spring Jackets

As spring approaches here in the midwest we are excited to leave our heavy and cumbersome coats behind. We pull out our spring tops {even those sleeveless styles} but still, need a light layer to put over them. The jackets I’m suggesting are the perfect piece to put over tops, dresses, and even pair with skirts. Since we can wear these jackets all year long and can dress them up or down, they are some of the most worn items in our closet. Here are my MVP’s for spring jackets.

Lightweight Tan Faux Suede Moto:

I LOVE bringing in a lighter colored moto jacket like this for spring/summer. This tan color is just as neutral and versatile as black – you can pair it with anything. This particular jacket is very light-weight. It pairs well with jeans for a casual look but it is also perfect for the office with a skirt or over a dress. For the price point, it’s a true winner.

Black {Faux} Leather Moto Jacket

Can never go wrong with black! I’ve had this jacket in my closet for three years and hands down it’s my go-to when I don’t know what to wear. It’s also been the top five most popular items I have shared on the blog. I love the matte vegan leather, where it hits at the waist, the gold hardware and the removable hood that I can add for a more casual/cool look. It’s so easy to dress up or down. Again, it’s a fabulous price point!

Denim Jacket:

Not all denim jackets are created equal {am I the only one that grew up saying jean jacket?}. It’s really about the fit and where the jacket hits around your waist area. I like one that sits right at your waist as it’s more flattering with dresses, and skirts, making it more versatile. A great denim jacket NEVER goes out of style, so invest, be happy with it and you’ll never have to buy another. I think Paige makes the best denim jackets, but I also suggest the Madewell classic for a little better price point.

The Spring Blazer

The three jackets I mentioned above are some of the most classic to mix and match in a spring wardrobe. I’m going to throw in this blazer I recently saw while shopping because blazers are so popular right now. This particular one can be dressed up or down. It’s a comfy knit material, herringbone, and the light color makes it the PERFECT spring/summer blazer. It’s almost as cozy as a sweatshirt!

The Trench Coat

I’m sneaking this essential piece of outerwear in this post because well, it’s a jacket! I purchased this trench last spring and LOVED it! For $60, it’s beautiful. It’s the perfect lightweight piece to throw over your outfit to head to work or wear casual. It’s washable too and will travel so well. This sold-out quickly last year, so don’t think about it too long!

Jackets are items that you can wear 2-3 times a week, to work, date night, or even running errands. You can wear basic items underneath and accessorize them to create so many different looks. I highly suggest bringing items like this into your closet as they will be worn over and over again.
