Happy Monday! Over the weekend John and I spent a night away in Milwaukee to celebrate our 14 year wedding anniversary. It was so nice to get away! Although Milwaukee is only a short drive away, we don’t visit enough. I love the feel of the old city and it’s neat to try new restaurants. We had a wonderful dinner and stayed at a newly renovated hotel. I will leave all details below in case you’re thinking of a quick getaway from Madison or Chicago.
- To celebrate our night out I wore a pink Lilly Pulitzer dress. I have had it in my closet for a while but have never worn it. I thought it was the perfect occasion to wear this. It is a little out of my comfort zone being it’s so bright, but every once in a while, in the middle of summer, a bright color is fun. Lilly Pulitzer makes some of the best dresses! The quality, attention to detail, and overall fit are hard to match. If you’re looking for a dress for a special occasion, this is always a place to look. Many dresses are classics you will have in your closet for years. I wore this exact style (A staple style always offered. Seasonally, color options change).

- We really enjoyed staying at the newly renovated Hotel Metro in Milwaukee. The decor was beautiful, the bar had great drinks, and the restaurant breakfast was delicious too. For dinner, we enjoyed Third Coast Provisions. It was literally steps from our hotel and was truly a wonderful experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was unexpected. It was cozy, yet modern and the food did not disappoint. The lobster potholes (a take on escargot) were my favorite dish of the night.
- As you know by now, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing. Anyone who has a Nordstrom card can shop the sale. I have my favorites linked here in this blog post. You’ll see more outfits coming later this week. Visit my Instagram page and click the ‘circle’ NSale for more favorites and picks.
- This spring was the first time I tried this self-tanning mousse. I LOVE it! I was really nervous to try it, but it’s almost foolproof. I simply apply with my hands like a lotion after I shower and voila! hours later I have an even tan. It’s great in summer if you have swimsuit lines you want to conceal too. It has a minimal self-tanner smell and doesn’t rub off on clothes. I honestly can’t say enough great things about it.
