Monday Montage

Here I am feeling old…my baby turned 6 on Saturday and I don’t know if I’m okay with that {and then here I am wearing overalls like I’m 15}. The days were so simple when he was a baby. We had our nap/snack/play schedule and while that felt like a lot then, it gets more complicated as they get older {in my opinion}. I tell myself to appreciate each stage and each day with the kids even though that is much easier said than done. The kids’ birthdays are always a day of reflection for me. I get emotional thinking of the first time I met them and all those new mom feelings. I know it will go by way too fast. We had a wonderful, simple weekend celebrating a six-year-old. Watching a movie on a rainy day, pizza, and cake, apparently made the best birthday ever!

  • I have a confession. In middle school, I had an obsession with overalls! They were definitely in style but I took it to a whole new level having a different pair to wear each day of the week. From light wash to black velvet I had multiple pairs to choose from all with a different look! I had a dear, childhood friend surprise me with a really cute pair in the mail. I cannot stop smiling about it. This was definitely my signature item. I have to admit, I kind of like these. When I opened the package, I didn’t think there was a chance! What do you think….too old for overalls! ha! Thank you SO much to by beautiful friend for thinking of me and sending me this special package.
  • I just received these super simple flat sandals and I love them! They actually have some cushion in the sole and the straps are a little puffy for comfort {the best way I can describe it). This minimal (almost invisible) looking sandal is very stylish right now; add the square toe and these are so good! The nude color will go with EVERYTHING! They run very true to size, if not a tad generous.
  • In case you missed my post last week, I found a new jewelry line I am LOVING! It’s a women-owned, up-and-coming designer from L.A. The pieces are trendy, some are chunky, and they are really lightweight. I have been wearing these earrings for over 8 hours a day and don’t even know I have them in. This bracelet is large but weightless and this herringbone necklace is substantial and won’t kink. Plus, each piece is $35 or under!
  • Style Tip: Tuck in your tops! The most common, simple tip I give women is to tuck in their tops. It doesn’t always have to be a full tuck. Try a front tuck or even a knot with a button-down shirt. What we are trying to achieve by tucking or knotting is SHOWING YOUR WAIST! It honestly looks worse and you appear larger than you are by trying to conceal or hide your waist. There are some exceptions, but I encourage you to try this the next time you are getting dressed. See what you think šŸ™‚

As always, thank you for reading and make it a great Monday!
