Hair Routine

Have you ever really LOVED your hairstyle? For the first time in a long time, I am there! It has taken some trials {and bad haircuts}, but I am to a place where I really like my length and my new balayage color.

Of course the cut and color are just one part of a hair style looking great There are also the products and how to style the locks that add up to great everyday hair. Here’s my current routine:

Hair Tricks :

  1. I don’t wash my hair every day. Depending on your hair type and how color-treated it is, washing can really dry it out. I start wash day wearing it down and as it gets dirtier, I go to a ponytail. I wash about every 3 days.
  2. I try and let my hair air-dry for as long as possible. The less heat on the hair the better.
  3. Using great products for my hair.

Products:

I DO invest in my hair care. I’ve been loyal to these products for a lot of years. I have taken breaks and have tried other brands, but I always come back to this brand. These specific products may not be best for you as I purchase shampoo and conditioner for blonde treated hair. Head here to see what products may best for your hair type.

  1. Shampoo – Purple shampoo to help keep my blond ashy not brassy, it’s also not as drying as some others I’ve tried.
  2. Conditioner – Mask type of conditioner really moisturizes and protects hair. I apply it on my ends and let on for about 3-5 min. It does not weigh down my hair. Also helps blonde color stay the way I like.
  3. Anti-Frizz/Detangler – Everyone can use this product! It’s a heat protector, frizz reducer, and shine enhancer – all great things. PLUS, it smells soooooo good.
  4. Repairing Hair Serum – Apply before I blow dry to repair damage, especially focusing on the color-treated hair around my face. Again, the smell is worth this product alone!
  5. Repairing Serum Option – I alternate between the serum listed above and this repairing serum specifically for blondes. I like this as well, perhaps a little lighter than the one listed above. Protects against heat, smooths hair, and repairs.
  6. Volume Texture Spray – I spray this {sparingly} to my freshly curled hair before I comb it out. It gives me volume and helps hold the wave.
  7. Hair Spray – I don’t use anything special. I am currently using a Paul Mitchel aerosol.

Hair Tools:

  1. Hairdryer – I scooped up this hairdryer when it was on a flash sale and got it for a fraction of the regular price. I must say, I really love it and don’t understand how blow-dryers can vary so much, but my hair dries quickly and seems more smooth and shiny. This current model is on flash sale, and SUCH a great price if you can handle pink!
  2. Curling Iron – My exact curling iron is not available. It’s nothing special, a cheapy from Target – 1 1/4 inch barrel.

Hair Styling Tips:

  1. Blow-dry hair in the direction you want it to go. I blow dry the front of my hair down because I like the way this looks on my forehead. I know it seems silly, but ask your stylist what’s best for your style.
  2. Ensure hair is completely dry before using a flat iron or curling iron. This is much better for your hair and your curls will last longer.
  3. If you like the current beachy wave look – ALWAYS curl hair AWAY from your face.
  4. Allow curls to completely cool before combing out {can be with fingers or a brush}.

Hair so personal, but perhaps you can take away something small from this post. Let me know if you have any questions!

As always, thank you for reading and make it a great day!

  • Amazon Summer Finds

Who doesn’t love a good deal? However, just because something is affordable doesn’t mean it’s a ‘good deal.’ It has to be a style you can easily wear, and it has to wash well {so you can wear it again}. To be honest, I am leary and not a huge Amazon fashion shopper, BUT, I
