The Sweater Review

The Best Sweaters and Fleeces

With a really early start to winter temps, sweaters and fleeces are going to get A LOT of wear this season for me. What’s better than pulling out a really soft and warm piece to cuddle in on a frigid day? Here’s my round-up of favorite sweaters {and yes, I am sneaking in a few fleeces}. They are all soft and so cozy and would make the perfect gift this holiday season.

We’ll start with a tried and true favorite and a sweater I reached for constantly last winter, this Free People tunic style sweater. I love the chunky fabric and turtleneck. It comes in so many colors and is really cozy. It does run large so make sure to size down.

Sticking with the Free People brand {I think they make some of the best sweaters}, my new favorite is this luxurious cashmere cropped style sweater. It’s like wearing a little cloud, really soft! I have the grey {I know boring}, but the selection of colors is beautiful! I love the bright pink!

For a little animal print {there are a lot of fun options out there right now}, I really love this grey-toned option with the varsity stripes on the sleeves. A little preppy, a little edgy. This fabric is really warm.

Sometimes I wear a pop of color – I promise! This magenta number is so fun and a great color! It’s also on super sale right now . The v-neck and cropped style make it so cute.

Moving onto fleeces, which are really a hot trend right now {and I love it because they are so soft and not itchy}. This little cropped version in this great tan color is worn at least once a week in my rotation. I’ll also mention it’s at an amazing price. It does fit boxy so you may want to size down.

I also live in this wubby fleece, which is so warm. It’s almost like a coat. A perfect piece to wear to layer up on a really cold day. I can’t believe how much I have reached for this already. I sized up to a large to get more length to wear with leggings. It also comes in a few different colors. Bonus- it’s on SALE too!

I recently tried on this little soft sweater. It’s really loose and boxy, but a great cozy fabric. Size down, it runs large!

Trust me when I tell you ALL of these sweaters are VERY soft and wearable. I have an allergic-type reaction to a lot of wool so I am very careful what I choose. As far as gifting a clothing item for the holidays, I LOVE getting a good sweater I know I’ll reach for time and time again.

As I make my Christmas wish list, I have some favorites that I have an eye on. Yes, another free people tunic type, but I’ve seen this one in person and it’s really good! Plus, it comes in so many great colors! How cute is this chunky knit with the little pocket? Or this beauty with a little cutout?
