Spring Shopping

Spring Break Clothing. Shopping and Packing!

Am I the only one that feels like I need an entire new wardrobe when I go on vacation? Did my closet seriously eat everything I wore last summer? Seems like it! I always get the itch to shop before a trip, and that’s no exception for our upcoming beach trip in April. Here are the clothing items I must pack, and either have {didn’t get eaten over the winter} or I am currently on the lookout for to add to my suitcase.

The Black Maxi Dress:

I can’t live without a black maxi dress on vacation! It’s something that can be worn out to dinner dressed up, to lunch super casual or even throw on over your suit for a swim cover-up! {Do you like how I relate my outfits to meals? That’s pretty much all that happens on vacation, right? Eat, play, sleep ,repeat.} Definitely one of the first things to go into my suitcase.

A Bright Colored Dress:

You know I don’t wear many bright colors. However, vacation is one exception. I love a fun Lilly Pulitzer dress for vacation {or any dress that gives off tropical vibes}. These prints are so beautiful and really encompass island style.

Chambray Dress:

Just like a black maxi dress, a light weight denim or chambray dress is easy to accessorize and create different looks. Therefore, another great item to throw in your suitcase. A summer staple for sure!

Wide Leg Breezy Pants:

I don’t wear a lot of shorts. They are a tough fit for me. With that being said, I am always looking alternate options – something cool and comfortable. I am really excited that wide leg, light weight, flowy pants are here this year. A perfect option to replace shorts.

Tops:

Simple to ruffled, bright to plain. Some fun summer tops!

Shorts:

As you just read, I don’t wear a lot of shorts. Sometimes, it’s the best option when it’s really hot and when needing to chase after after kids – so I do have a couple pair in my closet. When I do sport shorts I look for a flowy style. I like the tie waist styles called “paper bag waist.” They are quite flattering and comfortable.

Maybe a vacation isn’t on the horizon for you, but you need to add a few summery items to your closet. I hope this gives a little bit of inspiration! Here’s to warmer weather ahead; sundresses, wide-leg-flowy pants, and some pops of bright colors!
