In case you couldn’t tell, I really like Nordstrom! I had my 12th birthday party in the B.P. {aka junior} department – what more is there to say?!! I worked at Nordstrom for four years as a college student and the summer before my senior year of college I was lucky enough to experience an internship with this fantastic company.
I promise I’m not just another blogger sharing about Nordstrom and their Anniversary Sale because it’s the cool thing to do. It has been something I have shopped, worked, and merchandised for multiple times and I get giddy thinking it’s approaching. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the Superbowl of sales for fashion enthusiasts. As a true Nordy lover, I have you covered on what you need to know to score some great deals on the newest fashion for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.
Residing in Madison, Wisconsin we are not lucky enough to have a Nordstrom store to shop locally. While it makes me really sad, I am so happy they offer free shipping {no minimum}. I don’t hesitate to order items online knowing I can easily return them at our local Nordstrom Rack. With no hassle returns and free shipping, I am still able to purchase plenty of Nordstrom goods despite not having a Nordstrom store within driving distance.

Why I Love Nordstrom
- Return policy – really they’ll take back anything, anytime for any reason. Of course, a lot of people have abused this and things have changed a bit over the years, but compared to anywhere else I shop, it’s the best.
- I don’t need a receipt to get a full refund – I am a busy mom, I lose little pieces of paper, they either put the little sticker on the tag or can do a recept look up with your credit card. Again, makes the return so easy.
- Free shipping – no minimum.
- Full service – the staff of Nordstrom will go above and beyond to find styles, and items for you when you are shopping. If you start trying on jeans but need a different size or style, they will bring you others they think might work. Think of a personal shopper at your service.
- Great loyalty program – If you have a Nordstrom credit card, you gain points for dollars spent and get gift certificates sent to you – always fun to get free money in the mail!
- Alterations on-site – It’s so nice to try something on, know it needs to be altered and have alterations come right to the fitting room. I don’t need to go to another place. These alterations specialists are amazing and have worked with every situation under the sun. **If you are of a certain status with a Nordstrom credit card, free alterations are a perk too.
- Great value for on-trend/stylish items – Nordstrom has 23 of their own clothing brands. I didn’t actually know I bought and love so many of these brands until I created this list. Cutting out the middleman, by creating their own items allows for a better price point.
- Great company to work for – I owe a lot of how learned to do business from working at Nordstrom. When I interviewed at large fortune 500 companies and I would mention I worked at Nordstrom, they knew I understood customer service, and I believe that landed me my first job in real estate. I felt empowered and motivated as an employee of Nordstrom and that’s hard to find working retail.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Ahhh! Get ready to set your alarm, and click away at 12:30 am on Friday, July 12th! This is when early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts. It’s worth it {well if you’re a crazy fashion lover like me or simply like a good deal}.
- What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale {NSale}: New, {sometimes never seen} clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty for the fall and winter season released at a sale price. Popular brands that are part of this sale are Ugg, Northface, Patagonia, Tory Burch, Vineyard Vines. The list goes on, but you get the gist – name brand, new season, on sale.
- When does the sale start? Sale starts on Friday, July 12th for Nordstrom credit card holders only. So much sells out in the first hour of early access; if you really want the chance to shop some top items you pretty much need to have a Nordstrom credit card {sorry to break it to you}. You can apply for a Nordstrom credit card here. Remember they do have a great loyalty program that coincides with the credit card. Last year I was able to snag to some things as the sale went on, so don’t get too disappointed if you don’t have a card, however, I’m just trying to set proper expectations.
- What type of discount can I expect? Items are usually discounted by 30%-40%. All-in-all very good discounts.
- Designer Brands such as Tory Burch and Seven for Mankind {just as examples} make items specific for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You may see clothing, shoes and beauty products not available anywhere else.
Some popular items I snagged last year at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I also stock up on underwear, bras and my favorite body wash during this sale. I love checking out the activewear and the shoes are always the best. I honestly stay pretty much necessity based when buying during the Nsale. Since I am a shopper, I know more awesome things will be coming as the fall fashions are released, so I don’t need to buy every last thing during this sale.
For kids, I always buy them new school shoes, pajamas, and coats – Northface and Patagonia for less, yes, please!
Be watching for my picks closer to the sale date. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
As always, thank you so much for reading and make it a great day!
