Summer fever is brewing at our house! We had our first 80º weekend here in Wisconsin and l was asked by my children about 900 times if we could go to the pool {not open yet!}. The kids are in their last full week of school and we are a little lackadaisical around here with the school routine. We spent Saturday listening to live music and sipping wine at Bailey’s Run Vineyard. It’s a beautiful setting, with good wine, is family-friendly, and overall a relaxing way to spend an afternoon around the Madison, Wisconsin area.
- The black shirt featured above is so simple and easy to wear. The cropped style pairs best with high-rise bottoms. It’s flowy, cool, and easy to accessorize to make look stylish. The $40 price point is also to love! It is a boxy cut, but I am in my true size medium and like the fit.
- Shorts! I have gotten quite a few requests for shorts recommendations. I don’t personally love shorts, but I understand the need for them! Here are some personal and client favorites that cover multiple styles and wardrobe needs:
- Jean Shorts – These work for many women! Jean shorts are difficult to find. This particular pair is a little longer than most with a 4 1/2″ inseam and offers a generous fit in the leg opening giving a looser fit. I think the waist runs large and some women experience gapping in the waist with this brand. Anyway, worth a try if you’re on the hunt as many women love these.
- Everyday “Mom” Shorts – I was skeptical to try these on. I pulled them on and was very surprised at how they looked and felt. Really comfortable, yet stylish. Perfect for kids sporting events, a trip to the park, a walk, or a bike ride. I plan to wear a knit tee or tank with these shorts. They run true to size, if not a little generous. This brand is co-designed in New York City by the former designer for JCrew and Madewell. It’s a brand I will be frequently checking out as I think their idea of comfort, fit, and style collide very well to make solid clothing.
- Paperbag Waist – Really amazing lightweight, performance material, and easy to dress up or down shorts. The perfect travel item. They could get wet and will dry in an instant for a day at an amusement part, or throw on a cute wedge sandal, nice top and wear out to dinner. With this waist, it’s important to tuck in your top and show the waist of this style.
- I used this bag for the first time when we went to the vineyard and it was perfect! I packed snacks, sunscreen, blankets, and toys. It had plenty of room and made for such an easy way to haul all the stuff! If you’re a mom, you need this! *Watch out for price gouging with this bag. I see it on Amazon and other retailers for over $150. This local shop will ship anywhere and it’s $75.
As always, thank you for reading and make it a great Monday!
