Fall Dresses Under $50

I couldn’t resist a quick shot of this dress in our neighborhood as mother nature gave us the perfect coordinating backdrop. In Madison, Wisconsin we had a glorious fall weekend. It was so refreshing to have minimal activities on our calendar and actually be able to enjoy some unscheduled family time.

Okay, so about this little number, can we just say that $25 can buy you a mighty cute piece? I am in love with this dress for the price and how easy it is to wear. You may see this on the hanger and think it’s going to be unflattering and too much fabric. I have some tips on how to make this comfortable, affordable dress work for you.

First, the length of the dress needs to be right. It should hit above the knee. Wearing this dress is all about proportions. We are covering the top half of our body in a lot of flowy material, we need to see those legs! Note: this dress does come in petite!

Second, if you want to define your waist to show more of a shape, wear a belt with this loose silhouette. Adding a belt will also make the dress shorter and may create an overall more flattering look for your body type.

Lastly, this style screams for a great shoe! A heel is going to elongate your leg which is necessary with this dress. You could create a more formal look with this dress by adding a great pump {perhaps for a wedding type occasion}, a shorter bootie would be great, or I love pairing this style with a fab pair of tall boots- even an over-the-knee boot would look stellar.

Don’t be afraid to wear this little number as a tunic either. On a cold day, pair this dress with a pair of leggings under and you have a completely different look. This dress does run large, so size down one size. It also comes in multiple colors.
