Easy. Effortless. Stylish.

My Current Favorite Outfit

I feel like this is my first real post after the holidays.  I hope you all created wonderful memories, had some time to relax and do a few things you love to do!  I know too, the holidays can be really tough, and if that’s the case, I hope you found some peace and joy in these days as well.

Here at our house we are enjoying our last days of Christmas break. To be be honest, I thought two weeks off of school sounded like an eternity; that I’d have to find a variety of things to do to keep the kids busy. However, it went by so fast. We were content and it was a great break in the routine.

With the new year, I’m getting back to basics a bit.  I’m choosing to start the new year by sharing my favorite outfit, and individually three of my favorite pieces. These are items in my wardrobe I miss when they are in the laundry {I think we all have those pieces}.  They are simple, black {surprise!} and look put together in an effortless way.

*Drumroll*

Spanx Camo Faux Leather Leggings

I feel like you have probably seen these on your Insta feed by now.  I’d say they are a top new product of the year.  I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased these babies during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Let’s just say I wear them once or twice a week.  Spanx has done something miraculous with their design to create a legging that flatters the leg and booty.  They hold you in a bit but are not uncomfortable. I’ve read on some reviews people chose to size up.  I went true size {medium}, and they fit great.

I love these Spanx leggings so much, I ordered a plain black pair.  Let me tell you, they went back to the store.  They are not the same material and awesomeness as the faux leather pair.  I will most probably be ordering the plain faux leather black leggings, as I would really like a the non-camo pattern.  These faux leather pants are a step up from plain black leggings and are totally acceptable to wear for a night out.  You can easily dress them up or down.  Seriously, a new wardrobe staple for me.  I was hesitant of the price, but I’ve already got my monies worth!

Free People Thermal Turtleneck

If you have been following me, you know I have a soft place in my heart for the Free People brand. This top is NO exception.  It’s very similar to my favorite sweater I have posted about, but this is a knit – not as heavy as the sweater.  It runs HUGE so size down at least one size {I sized down two sizes}.  I am wearing an XS (which I never wear, I am a true Medium).  I love this top front tucked into jeans, and it’s the perfect tunic-type top to wear with leggings.  It comes in multiple colors and it so versatile. I have worn this top more than any other in my closet so far this fall/winter season.

Black Wedge Shoe

I fell in love with these shoes the moment I set eyes on them while shopping at Nordstrom late last summer.  I needed a black bootie in my wardrobe and I am so very happy with these shoes. They have been my everyday go-to shoe and they have yet to let me down.  Let’s not talk about how many times I get asked where they are from and the number of compliments I received on them. Truly a shoe staple!  Plus, they come in about twenty different colors!

As you can see these items individually are basic, but when paired together you look current and stylish while being comfortable. This outfit could bring to you to a sporting event, a day out shopping, to dinner out with friends. Easy and effortless.
